Megan Lynn Dotson Davis
Megan Lynn Dotson Davis, 35, of Hopkinsville, KY died at 2:16 p.m., Saturday, August 3, 2019 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. (CST), Friday, August 9, 2019 at First United Methodist Church in Hopkinsville, KY with Rev. Will Campbell and Rev. Jeff Calhoun officiating. Burial will follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens East, 11601 Ballardsville Road, Louisville, KY at 11:00 a.m.(EST), Saturday. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.(CST), Thursday at First United Methodist Church. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Megan Davis was born in Lexington Kentucky where she spent a lot of time with her immediate family, along with cousins and her maternal grandparents. Megan also loved visiting her Papa Dotson’s farm in Prestonsburg KY to see her pony Lady and the other animals at the farm. She always loved animals and had many pets from the time she was a little girl until her death. Megan was a Dietician for 10 years before moving to Hopkinsville to be a stay at home mom to take care of her Pride and Joy Hollis. Megan touched the lives of many people during her years as a dietician working in Retirement homes, health coaching, and Dialysis centers. Megan seemed to have a personal connection with all of her patients and was well respected in her field.
Megan’s favorite things to do was to spend time with her husband Justin, Daughter Hollis, and her dogs. Megan and the family loved to travel and take vacations. Megan also loved to plan events and bake. Hollis always had extravagant Birthday parties. Megan fought breast cancer for 4 years, yet she continued to make sure that Hollis did not miss out on anything. She continued to be a terrific mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. Megan will be missed forever and the memories of her will always be cherished by her friends and family.
Megan was preceded in death by her animals: Quacky, Mason, Rusty, Buster, Khaos and Lady. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents; Bernice Broyles & Mitchell & Elsie Dotson.
Megan is survived by her husband: Justin Davis of Hopkinsville, KY; her daughter, Hollis Davis, of the home; her mother and father, Mike & Beverly Dotson; her grandfather; Jim Broyles; her sister and Brother In-Law; Stephanie & Sven Zimdahl; her nephews, Chase & Colin Zimdahl, Ellis Davis; her niece, McKinna Davis; her dogs, Henry, George and Wallace Davis and a host of family and friends.
