Obituary for Edward Owen Hester

Edward Owen Hester, 78, of Panama City, Florida died at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Sun City Hospice House in Ruskin, Florida.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 29, 2019 at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Father Richard Meredith officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

A native of Eddyville, Kentucky he was born on October 31, 1940 the son of the late Harry Savells Hester and Dorothy Nevin Gardner Hester. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Jean Hester in 2018.

He retired from the United States Air Force after 31 years as a Chief Master Sergeant. He also worked after his retirement as an Electronics Technician. He was a member of Tyndall Air Force Base Catholic Community-Our Lady of the Skies.

Survivors include his wife: E. Jeannine Cayce Hester of Panama City, Florida; his sons, Timothy Edward (Teysha) Hester of Tampa, Florida and Jaime Edward (Meggan) Hester of Marietta, Georgia; his daughter, Tracy Hester (David) May of Panama City, Florida; his brothers, Harry Savells Hester, Jr. of Hopkinsville, KY and Charles (Marie) Hester of Montgomery, AL; his sisters, Harriette (Bill) Hancock of Hopkinsville, KY and Aileen (Robert) White of Brentwood, TN; his grandchildren, Blake (Amy) May, Jeremy Hester, Cayce (James) Hayley, Corey Hester, Camryn May and Owen Hester.

Memorials may take the form of donations to Wounded Warrior, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517.
